It's about sinking, somehow alive, to the bottom of the ocean, being crushed/imploded/exploded/whatever happens when you sink to the bottom of the ocean, then when your bones are picked clean, these bone worms that really only live in whale bones, lovingly called Bone-Eating Snotflowers, set up shop in your bones and, duh, eat them.

The idea came from an interview I heard with a scientist who listed this and falling elevator as the two worst ways to die. Apparently if you're standing up, likely, the relatively soft lower torso would rupture and just explode your guts downward when you land. On top of exploding and all the shattered bones and impact trauma, you'd probably not die right away. Falling elevator song is forthcoming.
